Luke 2:13-14
13 "A great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 "'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men, on whom His favor rests.'"
Lyrics:
1. Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
[Chorus] Gloria in excelsis Deo. Gloria in excelsis Deo
3. Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
This is one of my favorite Christmas carols and last night, as we sat around the table with some family and friends, the subject of angels came up. Now I don’t know if you have ever experienced the presence of angels before, but it can bring you so much peace and joy that’s hard to express in words.
2 Kings 6:16-17 (Berean Study Bible)
16 “Do not be afraid,” Elisha answered, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
17 "Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
Father, thank You for giving us Your presence seen through the angels that surround us. Open our eyes that we night see them. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
