Philippians 4:11-13 (Berean)
11 "Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
12 "I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
13 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
Paul was very grateful for all of the assistance and gifts that came through the believers of Philippi. He took the opportunity to encourage the church for them constantly walking together in unity and in true humility.
The sacrificial gifts that were given to Paul’s ministry from the Philippine church were given from hearts full of love and compassion for Paul and for the lost. Once again Paul took the opportunity to encourage the church.
Paul warned them of the "Judiazers" (Jewish legalists) and gave instructions on how to live a joyous Christian life. I have met so many Christians that are unbelievably miserable and have lost their joy. Paul left us with a powerful message on being content even in the face of adversity.
I have met men and woman who are incarcerated within prisons all across our nation. Even those around the world who are happy and content with their relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior. Our joy is all about how we look at it our life. No one likes going through tribulation, but praise God once we have been born again we begin a whole new relationship in our walk with Jesus Christ.
Father, help us to receive greater revelation of Your powerful truths that show us just how much You really love us. Truths that demonstrate to us that You don’t hate us, but rather You are taking every opportunity to correct us as You heal our broken lives. In Jesus's name Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
