Fathers House

June 17, 2022

John 14:1-3 (BSB)

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well.

2 "In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you.

3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am."

There are so many things that are going through my head as I prepare the devotional for today. With Father’s Day approaching us this weekend, I am thinking about how lucky and grateful that I am to have had such a great father.

Explanation and Commentary of John 14:2:

"Jesus is comforting his disciples as he is preparing to leave them. Seeing that they are dismayed at the thought of losing him, he assures them that not only will he return for them, but that he has a wonderful place for them where he will be with them. This is mysterious but should give us great hope. The Father knows us, loves us, and has sent his Son to save us to be with him forever. This was told to the disciples as a comfort, and it should be a comfort to us as well."

Thank You, Father, for preparing us a place of comfort both in Heaven and here while we are still on the earth. I want to take this moment to wish You a very happy Father's Day. In Jesus's name, Amen, and Amen.

Blessing on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
