2 Corinthians 8:10-12 (TPT)
10 "So here are my thoughts concerning this matter, and it’s in your best interests. Since you made such a good start last year, both in the grace of giving and in your longing to give,
11 "you should finish what you started. You were so eager in your intentions to give, so go do it. Finish this act of worship according to your ability to give.
12 "For if the intention and desire are there, the size of the gift doesn’t matter. Your gift is fully acceptable to God according to what you have, not what you don’t have."
This is how Verse 12 reads in the King James Version:
12 "Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have."
I’m learning to get the job done with what I have to work with. By the time I get Step One done, here comes the means for what I need to get Step Two done. Before you know it, the job is finished. It says, “Now therefore perform the doing of it."
As I’m writing this, my thoughts are running wild within me that there are some that might get offended with me thinking that I’m trying to get you to give to me. That’s not my intent at all. I’m only pointing out the need to finish the project that has been started.
Father, I pray that you motivate us in what you have called us to do until we have finished the work we have started. Protect us from being hindered and let Your Spirit strengthen us. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
