Most of us know the story about David and Goliath, which can be found in the Book of 1 Samuel starting with Chapter 17. We can clearly see Goliath challenging the armies of Israel by defying the armies of God. Even though the size of this giant was intimidating to everyone, it did not have that kind of affect on David.
David learned as a shepherd boy how to communicate with God as he faced the lion and the bear. Facing these challenges only helped to developed in him the confidence to be faithful in the small things that lead him into facing bigger dangers.
1 Samuel 17:45-46 (KJV)
45 "Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
46 "This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."
Father, it amazes me how the world thinks that a cloth mask across their face can silence an almighty God. They will be surprised when they see how You are not intimidated from this champion that defies You the Living God. David faced this giant with five smooth stones. He was prepared to go after the other four brothers of Goliath to finish this thing once and for all. I am preparing myself to advance forward, and then engage in the battlefield of faith against the enemies that distract us from seeing Your glory. Thank you for giving us all that we need to finish the race. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
