I’m Standing on the Promises of God

October 28, 2020

Romans 4:21 (KJV)

21 “And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

I looked up what it means "to stand on his promises" and here is a quote that I found:

“It is the nature of God that makes his promises trustworthy, something sure to stand on... This attribute means that God is unchanging in his character, will and promises. Therefore, we can have absolute confidence in God's reliability to make good on his promise because of his unchanging character.”

The song "Standing on the Promises" was written by Russell Kelso Carter in 1886. It reflected his time in the military.

"Standing on the promises of Christ my king, through eternal ages let his praises ring;

glory in the highest, I will shout and sing, standing on the promises of God.

"Refrain:

Standing, standing,

standing on the promises of God my Savior;

standing, standing,

I’m standing on the promises of God..."

Father, I thank You for the promise that You have made to us and the promises that You have keep over us. My life is in your merciful loving hands. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
