I Will Lift Up My Hands

Psalm 63:4 (KJV)

4 "Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name."

Testimony: I was getting ready to go to my ten year class reunion and, to be honest with you, I was not looking forward to it. My life had been changed when I surrendered my life to Jesus. The things that I did in my BC days (before Christ) did not have a hold on me like before.

The night before the reunion I had a dream that I was attacked by a gorilla-sized man who knocked me down to the ground and was stomping the life out of me. I couldn’t do anything in my power to stop him, so I started to raise my hands up before the Lord for Him to receive me into heaven.

I was raised up from the ground in a supernatural way, and, as my hands went up in the air, it hit this man so many times that he was knocked to the ground and was out for the count. Then I woke up from the dream. I won the fight for my life, but the Lord was preparing me before I got to the evening festivities.

There was a man that I had brutally beat up one day after school.  He reminded me of how we had been best of friends in high school, and with his finger poking in the chest said, “I don’t think you can do it again."

I told the Lord that I was not that sanctified yet, and asked Him to deliver me from the beating that was sure to come. I looked straight into his eyes and said, “If I could take it back I would." Then I turned to walk away from him. The real fight was won in the dream I had the night before.

Father, I thank You for forgiving me, and showing me that the real damage was what I did to him back in school. In his humility, I was humbled that night. I only wish that I had asked him to forgive me while he was still alive. Help me to be more sensitive to Your spirit as I finish my race here on earth. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who teaches me how to bring You honor and not to disgrace You. In Jesus's name I pray, Amen.
