Romans 8:1-8
1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 "That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 "For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."
The devil wants us to be trapped in the consequences of sin to keep us in a defeated state-of-mind. But we who are born again, who are walking in the spirit, have a victory that the world does not have. Victory has been purchased for us through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
I had one man on death row accuse me of being a liar because I believe in those who are raised from the dead. If you don’t believe that Jesus was raised from the dead, sits on the right hand of the Father, and is forever interceding for you, then all you have to rely on is total condemnation. I said to the man, "You are sitting in a cell on death row waiting to be executed, and I am standing outside your cell free from the law of sin and death. So how is it working for you?"
Father, help me to find the right words to make it clear that You love them and that You have made a way of escape for those that are born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. Thank You for being with us in suffering and in times of joy that wait for us who believe in You. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
