When I started looking into the scripture found in John 14:12-14, which we looked at yesterday, I was tracking down a word that the Lord spoke to me one morning: “passivity." Now look at this interesting story I found.
“A little boy fell out of bed in his sleep. His father picked him up and put him back in bed. He asked him, 'Son, what happened?' The little boy responded, 'I fell asleep to close to where I got in.' One preacher said that he believed that this describes too many Christians today... We are not talking about their salvation here but he was making reference that there was no spiritual progress since they were saved."
Passivity: acceptance of what happens, without active response or resistance.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
We stand in the doorway of our relationship with the Lord and do not press into the meat of the words spoken to us as our right as believers.
Father, I pray that the eyes of our understanding will go past the surface and dive deep into what He is saying to us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember the best is yet to come.
