What is the significance of number seven in the Bible? In Scripture, seven often symbolizes completion or perfection. Genesis tells us that God created the heavens and the Earth in six days, and, upon completion, God rested on the seventh day (Genesis 1; 2:1-2).
Testimony: I had the privilege of speaking in that little Pentecostal church years later after I had received Jesus Christ as my Lord and as my Savior.
I remember sitting in the back of the church, in the same seat, looking down the aisle before the service started and there was this peace that I couldn’t explain.
My life was filled with the light of the glory of God now. The crowd was small that night and I shared with them what had happened to me in that revival years ago with Rev. Round-Tree.
They all laughed as the pastor shouted out, "Praise God we scared the devil out of that boy!"
They took up an offering and, after counting it, there were seven one-dollar bills. My wife counted the money again after we got back home. I had miscounted. There were eight one-dollar bills.
The number eight in the Bible is a new beginning. It is a number of hope, new horizons and bright future. It is connected with Jesus and His resurrection. I heard the Lord saying to me that I was at the completion of the first phase of my ministry and now I'm entering into a new beginning or phase two. So I was off to Bible School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Father, give me the wisdom and the strength to walk in this new adventure that You set before me as phase two comes to an end and I’m entering into phase three. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
