Colossians 3:15 (ESV)
15 "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful."
Testimony: I felt an uneasiness within my spirit, and at 11:00 pm one night I told my wife that I needed to go down to my office to pray. It was just a short distance away from our house; I could walk there in less than five minutes.
I left the front door to my office open and while I was praying a car pulled up. A woman jumped out and ran into my office. She was hysterical and asked if she could use my phone to call an ambulance saying that her husband was out in the car struggling to breathe.
I called 911 for her and then went out to the vehicle to see how I might be able to assist. When I opened the door to the car her husband was trying to catch his breath and was turning blue. I explained to him that the ambulance was on the way and would be there at any moment.
I asked him to try to take a deep breath and then let it out slowly. I was a new born Christian, and tried to start to tell him about Jesus several times but the words would not come out of my mouth. I held his hand and told him, "Hey, look I can see the lights of the ambulance. You are doing great. Just take another breath."
There was a restaurant supper club next to my office, and the waitresses tried to reassure him that they would take care of his car. He never took his eyes off of me and said, "No, I want him (talking about me) to do it." He would not let the people from the ambulance get him out of the car, so I lifted him up and put him on the stretcher. His wife was getting into the ambulance, and handed me the keys to their car. It was only then that I was able to say to her that I would be praying for them.
The church criticized me for not telling him about Jesus saying that if he died he would have gone straight to hell and I felt terrible. Two days later they came by to pick up their car. His wife thanked me saying that God had touched her husband that night.
Father, thank You for showing me that sometimes we need to show them Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for speaking to my heart and revealing to me that if I would have mentioned the name of Jesus that the fear of dying would have taken him out. Father, forgive us for not trusting You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember the best is yet to come.
PS. Now take a deep breath, and know that God's got this.
