2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV)
3 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ"
So what does taking your thoughts captive mean? In simple terms, it means gaining control over what you think about concerning yourself and your life. What you focus on the most will have a massive effect on what you find yourself thinking about. The world will tell you that you are good for nothing, but God says that you have value worth dying for.
This scripture says that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” It looks to me like we are in search of learning how to see things in God's perspective and not in man's. The masses of people are being bombarded and scared through the news media, on a daily basis, to be taken captive through what I would call vain imaginations.
Remember the acronym for FEAR? False Evidences Appearing Real. Our society is trying to plant the idea in your head that the church is non-essential. Don’t believe it for a minute! If we don’t cast down imaginations, and take into captivity every thought, then our thoughts will take us into captivity and will cast us down.
Father, as the days of Jesus' soon return are upon us, I am so grateful that You protect us, your children, and equip us with the weapons of our warfare that are mighty in pulling down strongholds. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come. Captive
the best is yet to come.
