April 1, 2021
There are a lot of people who call April 1st “April Fool’s Day”. They like to play jokes on each other and this type of humor is celebrated around the world. Everyone likes to have fun, and that’s okay for the most part, but some people can go to the extreme by playing tricks on each other that sometimes can turn out to be very hurtful.
I looked at several articles on this April Fool's thing and could not find anyone that can really settle when it all got started, but, hey, I’m not trying to be critical here. I’m the first to say that I’m a pretty serious person and would not ever want to be called a fool because fools say there is no God.
Psalm 14 (KJV)
1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2 "The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 "They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 "Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.
5 "There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 "Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the Lord is his refuge.
7 "Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad."
Wow, that’s packed with a wallop and hits us where the rubber meets the road. Father, forgive us as a nation for using such a foolish statement to give us the courage to sin against You. Father, I pray that we shall rejoice once again as a nation and worship You. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember the best is yet to come.
