The Great Adventure

November 2, 2021

Timothy 6:12

12 "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."

The words to the song “The Great Adventure” are more than just words that I can find to express what I’m feeling at the moment.

“Started out this morning

In the usual way

Chasing thoughts inside my head

Of all I had to do today

Another time around the circle

Try to make it better than the last

I opened up the Bible and I read about me

Said I'd been a prisoner

And God's grace had set me free

And somewhere between the pages

It hit me like a lightning bolt

I saw a big frontier in front of me

And I heard somebody say, "Let's go!"

"Saddle up your horses!

We've got a trail to blaze

Through the wild blue yonder

of God's amazing grace

Let's follow our leader into the glorious unknown

This is a life like no other

This is the Great Adventure"

My heart is fixed on this next outreach. I’m trying to keep all of my emotions in check but it’s difficult to say the least.  We leave at 7:00 am from Tulsa, Oklahoma and arrive in Honduras by 11:30 am, and I’m really pumped.

Hold on to the promise God has made to you. Reach out and receive it with a grateful heart and let God work it through to the end.

Father, thank You for giving us eternal life and the drive to fight. You are the greatest thing that ever happened to us and we praise your Holy name, Amen and amen.

Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
