The Spirit

July 15, 2020

There is this place that we, as man, have lost the knowledge of and that is the realm of the spirit. In an article written by Andrew Womack, he makes some really interesting observations that bear repeating today. He said that there is a spiritual ream that’s on the outside of us as well as inside of us.

He said that “We aren’t evolved animals; we were created in God’s image and likeness (Gen. 1:26). We are spirit beings. The ultimate way to control bad behavior isn’t by more laws, metal detectors, or social engineering; it’s changing the hearts of people, one at a time. Only Jesus can do that.” Well Said!

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

After you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you experience what it means to be born again, your spirit becomes a new creation. The old life, or the old you, dies and you become new. You are not trying to become new -- you are new. Your spirit is sealed. A seal communicates ownership, protection, and a validation of the relationship.

We look at the word "death" as meaning "ceasing to exist," but our spirit man is eternal and we will live forever. Our physical body is not eternal, and it will cease in death, but our spiritual man lives forever. With Jesus in our hearts we will live with him for ever. But with out Jesus in our hearts we will be—separated from God forever.

When Paul said that he was alive to God once, and then he died in Romans 7:9, we see that God made a way for Paul, and for all of us, to be born again. When you are born again, your spirit becomes new, not your mind and not your body (2 Cor. 5:17). You are alive to God again. We will look at our soul tomorrow.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for rescuing our spirit and giving us new life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
