John 3:16 (KJV)
16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
I had to ask myself what part of the gospel was I attracted to that turned me from going a direction that destined me to be separated from God forever, to being born again and living with Him for eternity. When my son, Jed, passed a way over 30 years ago I started a search for answers that would satisfied the longing in my heart to see him again. Sounds a little selfish, but, hey, I will see him again. That is a promise found in the Word of God!
John 10:28-30 (KJV)
28 "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 "My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 "I and my Father are one."
Proverbs 8:35 (KJV)
35 F"or whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord."
I was raised up in church, and had good parents that prayed for me and my brothers without giving up on us in the kind of life that we lived in our BC days (before Christ). I will never regret my decision to accept the Lord, and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of His promise to me here in this life and in the one to come after death.
So, Father, thank You for showing me just how powerful You are and that my life is in Your hands. Thank You for the wisdom that You have given me in each good day and each bad day. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
