What is Our Next Step?

January 25, 2021

I would not want to take one step forward, or one step backward, without receiving direction from God. Listen, this is very important. You cannot act in faith without hearing from God.

When God speaks to us, sometimes we are listening, and then, on the other side of that coin, sometimes we are not listening.

I did a little experiment one time and, to tell you the truth, I was not really surprised at what I learned. I stood in the entrance of a grocery store and asked people how they were doing. They usually responded with, "I  am doing great." Then they would ask me how I was doing and I said, "Well I not doing very good." They would respond with, "That’s good," and walk right on by me. Sometimes, we are not listening.

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I have learned a very powerful lesson by looking at the verse before and after the one  God has brought to my attention.

Romans 10:16-18 (KJV)

16 "But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18 "But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world."

Father, there are a lot of people that say they have faith, but they are not hearing all that You are saying to them. Help us to learn the importance of what You are saying to us so that we will get the full benefit of it. In Jesus's name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
