Personal Testimony: While writing these devotions I had the privilege of speaking with a gentleman who came to visit with me on Friday about being baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I shared with him how being baptized in the Holy Spirit comes the same way that you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You heard the Word and you confessed with your mouth what you believed in your heart and, by faith, you were saved.
After praying for him I asked him what he was feeling. He shook his head and said he felt like three waves came over him. Then he said that he had three doctorates and spoke in five different languages.
He asked me if I knew that I was speaking in Greek over him. I can assure you that I have enough trouble speaking in English and I do not speak in Greek.
On Sunday, Mike and I went to the Oklahoma State Prison and held two services. Eight men prayed to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Praise God! On the way home I got a text that the man on Friday started speaking in tongues, Wow, God, You are good.
Acts 2:1-4 "The Holy Spirit at Pentecost"
(Joel 2:28-32; John 14:15-26; John 16:5-16; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-7)
1 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
Thank You, Father, for Your Word is truth, Amen and Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
