Lamentations 3:20-21 (KJV)
20 "My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 "This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope."
We need to hold onto our hope when things are looking bleak. Do you remember when you felt depressed and defeated in the past? Then God reached out and snatched you up out of all of that and restored your soul. So let your message ring out clear in this moment about just how God will never leave you nor forsake you.
Maybe you are fighting to keep your family from falling apart, or your marriage is in trouble. In times like these its hard to remain faithful. One minister said it this way: “We become drained to the core, walking around like spiritual zombies instead of spiritual giants."
Maybe you are like Jeremiah here in this scripture, and you sink to an incredible low as you watch everything you trusted in crumbling in front of you. Don’t give up when it looks like everyone is against you. Don’t give up because of there threats to destroy you, or end your life by killing your dreams.
Look up! “This I recall to mind, and I have hope.” Depression is a state of mind. There is a saying that goes like this, “Misery loves company”.
1 Samuel 30:6 (KJV)
6 "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: David encouraged himself in the LORD his God."
Father, in this moment, I ask that You give Your people direction about not getting into a pity party, but pursuing their enemies and taking back what the devil stole from them. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
