Why Do I Make Things So Complicated

Writer: Rev. Wayne SandersRev. Wayne Sanders

One minister said that “Faith is simple; I have a tendency to make it complicated.” We need to learn to develop a stronger trust in what the Lord says to us. When He says to fear not, do we believe Him and take Him at His Word? Or do we get a sick feeling that things are not going very well?

1 Peter 5:7

7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Let me reinforce something about God here if I may. God wants you to trust Him because He cares for you. His love for you came at a great cost to Him. What do you expect God to do to prove that He cares for you, your family, your friends? He will prove that He is real to you. Praise God!

Testimony: We took our youth group to an outreach in Texas back in the early 80s. One young boy informed my wife and I that he only came on this trip to get away from his parents and that he did not believe in a God. He had a personal encounter with our awesome Father God on that trip and soon became a believer.

He reminded me of several people that I have met over the years that fought so hard to resist God as being real but they had soon met their match.

Father, I pray that I get myself out of Your way.  I pray that I will not make it so complicated for them to receive the richness of Your glory in their lives. I roll all the cares of this world over onto You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
