ABOUT US

Wayne and Connie Sanders are the founders of Common Ground Ministries (CGM), whose motto is "Taking it to the Streets." CGM is named for the thought that if we share the belief in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and that He is the only way to the Father, we have common ground to stand on. Since 1990 Common Ground Ministries has been involved in outreaches both in the United States and overseas. The heart of the ministry is to see unity in the body of Christ and our other passion is taking the Gospel to the streets. This includes street evangelism, mission trips, tent revivals, prison ministry and various other outreaches. CGM is passionate about taking the Gospel into the places where most Christians don't go in order reach the people who will not come to the church.

Each year, CGM participates in outreaches at Mardi Gras, the Indianapolis 500, and Fair St. Louis as well as other outreaches across the nation. CGM also makes three mission trips each year: two of them to the Country of Honduras, Central America and the third is a state side to trip the to the State of Pennsylvania. In addition to these annual trips, CGM has also traveled to the West Indies, including Barbados, Curacao, St. Martin, and Trinidad, spreading God's Word while also helping to bring comfort and healing to clinics and orphanages throughout these nations.

Wayne and Connie have been married for 36 years and reside in the State of Oklahoma with their family. Wayne is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training College. In addition to CGM, Wayne and Connie also serve as volunteer Chaplains in several prisons in the State of Oklahoma.

Greetings from Common Ground Ministries:

We are faced with an ever-increasing responsibility to share the Word of God in every man's world. Humanity is racing toward a head-on-collision with destiny at an alarming rate. For some, they will escape the sting of death (1 Cor 15:54-55) "Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? Death is swallowed up in victory." But for others their spiritual blindness will cause them to fall victim to an agonizing defeat, lost forever, separated from the love of God. The God of all creation has illuminated the path for eternal life. The price for the redemption of man has been purchased through the blood of His Son Jesus. Yet there will be multitudes of people that will fall head first into eternity not ever knowing that they have been rescued (saved) from death's grip. One choice, one decision, can alter their destination. Their death sentences can be overturned, they can be acquitted, and in exchange they can be given a sentence of life everlasting.

In the New Testament times the Lord and His apostles preached wherever the people could be gathered: in the synagogues, on the mountainside, by the shores of seas and rivers, in the public street, at the porch of the Temple. Paul declared, "It pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe" (1 Cor 1:21). The Great Commission has a broad application that calls all believers to participate in preaching the Gospel (Mark 16:15). The piercing question, "How shall they hear without a preacher?" (Rom 10:14), challenges all Christians to share with others the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We have several outreaches here at Common Ground Ministries that I would like to share with you in the hope that you might have a clearer vision of what this ministry is all about. (Hab 2:2) "And the LORD answered me, and said, 'Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.'" I pray that after you read this material you will be able to see our vision and understand what we are endeavoring to accomplish. Thank you for taking the time to view this material.

God bless you!

Wayne Sanders
