Psalms 46:1-2 (KJV)
1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 "Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;"
I believe that if I could talk to anyone who is reading this devotional today, you could most likely share some pretty incredible stories with me that, through it all, you could say that “God was on your side.” Stories that, even though you may have been faced with hopeless situations, we could still hear you echoing these words, “God is on our side.”
There has not been one moment of your life that has been a waste of yours or God’s time. God is a good Father, a sovereign God. Sovereign means that He is “a possessor of power ” like a court official or ruler. God is one who is wise in His decisions, which are made according to what is in our best interest. He is working out your story right now, at this very moment. That makes me want to praise the Lord!
Psalm 107:8-9 (KJV)
8 "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9 "For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness."
Father, every time we begin to get worried, we will remind ourselves that You are on our side. When the news of this pandemic invades our thoughts we shall say with our mouths "Our God is on our side." When the feelings of stress, anxiousness, or being overwhelmed may come our way, we will say it once again that “God is on our side.” Amen and amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
