Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)
23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts
24 "And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
Our first step for this trip to New Orleans begins with recognizing that God knows us better than we know ourselves. That's why in this scripture he asks the Lord to search him.
One commentary said that God knows all of our ups and all of our downs. He knows us from our beginnings to our end.
He surrounds my life when I am sleeping and when I am awake. Thank You, Father, that before I even open up my mouth You know what I am going to say, and You still love me anyway.
People ask, "What does Psalms 139 mean in the Bible?"
"It is a convicting Psalm because if we really take it at face value – God's thoughts and care for every baby in the womb should make us weep. When we understand His heart – we catch His passion. He cares about these precious lives in the most dangerous place to be in our modern world – the womb."
Father, help me to see Your creation like You do. Help me to look past all of my shortcomings and extend a hand of love toward those that You allowed Jesus to come and pay the ultimate sacrifice for their sins. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
Blessing in the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
