Luke 6:47-48
47 "Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 "He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.”
Testimony: I saw a picture of a village in Honduras right after a flood had occurred from a hurricane that leveled the whole entire village. The place looked like a river bed that was full of rocks and debris. Right in the middle of all that devastation was a church that looked totally untouched by all of the disaster. I heard that when the flood came the people we sleeping and never new what happened to them.
The Word of God has power in it, and when we hear it, and act on it, the Word calls us wise men and wise women. Have you ever met a person that hears what you were saying to them with their ears, but you know that they are not getting it? When hard times strike against them they say they never saw it coming. They will even say, "Why didn’t you tells us," laying the blame for their pain and loss on you, or really on God. Well, God's Word works, but we are the ones who are responsible for digging in deeper and finding the answers to help shore us up in this life.
Father, my prayer today is that You would give me wisdom to say the right words to help those that You love walk away from the storms untouched by their devastation. My prayer today is for us to see how we can apply that Word, and dig deeper, standing firmly on the foundation that You have laid. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
