Luke 4:8
8 "And Jesus answered him, “It is written,“ ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’”
The song “I Worship You” came up in my spirit today and I remember when we used to sing it at Rhema Bible Church all the time.
“I worship You, Almighty God
There is none like You
I worship You, Oh Prince Of Peace
That is what I want to do
I give You praise
For You are my Righteousness
I worship You, Almighty God
There is none like You”
In David Gukiz's commentary he says:
“God acts powerfully on behalf of those who believe in him... Worship is the art of losing self in the adoration of another. Praise can be a part of worship, but worship goes beyond praise. Worship gets to the heart of who we are. To truly worship God, we must let go of our self-worship. We must be willing to humble ourselves before God, surrender every part of our lives to His control, and adore Him for who He is, not just what He has done. Worship is a lifestyle, not just an occasional activity.”
John 4:23 (KJV)
23 “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”
Father, help me to develop a lifestyle of worship. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Blessings on the journey. and remember that the best is yet to come... To be continued...
