Matthew 25:35-40 (ESV)
“35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
36 "I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’
37 "Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
38 "And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
39 "And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 "And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”
There is a lot of ministry going on for the most part, but I was still excited to get a call from the Department of Corrections inviting our team of volunteers to come and do services at prisons. I have been providing services in several facilities in Oklahoma, and around the world, since 1988.
My heart goes out to them and their families especially during special holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
When you see the tenderness of the Holy Spirit change the harden hearts of those incarcerated it’s life changing for you as well. The challenges are great, but for God what seems impossible is made possible. Hallelujah!
I find out tomorrow if we get to bring candy into the prison for Christmas this year again. Please keep us in your prayers that we have favor with the DOC.
Thank You, Father, for the lives that will be touched with just a small, simple jester of Your love for each man and woman locked up. There is a execution scheduled this week and I pray for the salvation of this one. In Jesus's name, Amen and Amen.
Blessings on the journey, and remember that the best is yet to come.
